Macc raise ticket prices for NLN: comparison & reaction
How the Silkmen compare to other NLN clubs
Macclesfield FC has today confirmed its Season Ticket and match day ticket prices ahead of the 2025-26 season as the club competes in the National League North.
Unsurprisingly (but understandably), the Silkmen will introduce price increases for next season as we compete at our highest level (Step 2) since reforming.
The price of success
The price of an adult season ticket will go up by between 17% and 24% from £299 to £352 (standing), and £371 (seated). But if you consider that the Silkmen will play two more home games in the NLN (23 matches), adults will effectively be paying between £19 and £38 more to watch Macc next season when factoring in this season’s prices. Given that, this increase does feel reasonable.
Elderly and younger supporters will most feel the pinch, however.
Concession season tickets (65 and over) will cost 21% (£274 standing) and 30% more (£293 seated) compared to £225 this season. Student tickets will rise from £175 to £215 (standing) and £235 (seated) – up by 22% and 34% respectively.
A season ticket for U18s will go up from £125 to £156 (standing) and £176 (seated) – up by 24% and 40% respectively. An under 12s season ticket will rise from £50 to £68 (standing) and £78 (seating) – up by 36% and 56%. Finally, a disabled including carer season ticket will cost £215 next season, up from £175 (+22%).
A modest increase for matchday tickets
Matchday prices are going up by £2 (seated) and £1 (standing) across the board.
Personally I wouldn’t have been surprised to see adult tickets climb to £20 next season, so I think this is a welcome gesture of goodwill from the Board given our wage bill and other costs will be considerably higher in the National League North.
An adult season ticket next season will work out at approx. £16 per game (seated) and £15 (standing).
How do Macc’s prices compare to other NLN clubs?
Below are the prices that National League North clubs are charging, listed by their current position in the league. As you can see, clubs offer a plethora of ticket prices so comparing like-for-like isn’t straightforward. But overall, Macclesfield FC’s prices will be competitive next season.
Things to note:
The below prices reflect current match day prices only – many clubs haven’t announced their Season Ticket costs for next season. NLN clubs may raise their prices for the 2025/26 season, and unusually (in the case of South Shields) some may lower them
Four clubs charge £20 and over for seated tickets, with the most expensive seated ticket costing £26 at Hereford
At just £13, Oxford City represent the best match-day value in the league.
Some clubs offer discounted prices for tickets either bought online and/or in advance
A couple of clubs provide discounts for family tickets purchased together
A number of clubs provide free entry to U12s and U11s, if they are accompanied by a paying adult
